Silver Snakes

After many years of working with other mediums and formats, Haint returned to the shadowbox. Haint had been making many light-boxes before he resumed shadowboxes.
The light-boxes were three dimensional and layered but were designed to be seen with light streaming through them, unlike the shadowboxes which play on
reflected light and shadow .
But the first shadowbox (working title:Silver Snakes) used both techniques.
The light streaming through the blue cellophane and reflecting off the silver tentacles enhances the illusion of depth created by the shadows.

Although this is the first of the new line of shadowboxes for Haint, Silver Snakes has never been completed. The large expanse of colored cellophane means that it sags and wrinkles and is not suitable for display.

Haint has been searching for a light blue tinted plexiglass that will create the same optical illusion. In addition, Haint would like to rebuild the box that frames the piece with the better techniques that he has learned since he first made Silver Snakes.
